“Prácticas de las madres de menores de 5 años con enfermedades prevalentes, comunidad la esperanza período noviembre 2017 – febrero 2018”

The present research work called "Practices of mothers under 5 years with prevalent diseases, community La Esperanza period November 2017 - February 2018", is a cross-sectional and mixed descriptive study, analyzing qualitative and quantitative variables, worked with 20 mothers who met the inclusion criteria: have children under five years of age and live in the community, to obtain the data was designed and applied a survey of 20 questions, which allowed to know about the practices of mothers of children under 5 years with prevalent diseases contained in the AIEPI strategy; determining that 100% of mothers correspond to the indigenous ethnic group; 80% of marital status married, 50% of primary education, 45% of mothers go to health facilities with their children only under the presence of more common prevalent diseases (diarrhea, fever, respiratory diseases); 40% of mothers use medicines to treat the diseases that occur and 60% use natural home remedies. Regarding the knowledge of the AIEPI strategy, 20% of mothers know; 100% have access to the health facility but manifest having difficulty mobilizing due to lack of transportation. To cover the training needs detected in the study population, a guide was developed in the Quichua language as part of an educational program for the mothers of the community.
