| Summary: | Emotional intelligence permits people to understand, perceive, identify and regulate their own and other people's emotions. That is why this research aims to carry out a comparative analysis of the development of emotional intelligence in the Psychopedagogy major in the first and fifth semester, at the National University of Chimborazo, through psychological reagents for student adaptation. A quantitative approach was used within this study, with a non-experimental design by not manipulating the variable, basic, field, and transversal type, with a descriptive scope level, and correlational by executing a comparison, the unit of analysis was the National University of Chimborazo. A non-probabilistic sampling was applied when working with first and fifth-semester students of the Psychopedagogy Major. The technique was the psychometric test when working with a test. Its instrument was the TMMS-24 questionnaire, adapted online. The data collection allowed the execution of a comparison of the variable through crossed tables carried out in the SPSS program, in order to conclude that both the comparison by sexes and by semesters the students have an adequate range based on the dimensions, attention, clarity, and emotional regulation evidencing the faculty and capacity to perceive, manage and understand their own emotions as well as those of others. |
