Beskrivelse
Summary:The research was of the documentary type, which included 35 scientific articles of academic importance; the objective was to define the importance of motor control in older people in the process of active aging, considering the contribution of the different authors consulted, the scientific evidence and the arguments for the use of the technique as part of the physiotherapeutic intervention. The search strategy was based on inclusion and exclusion criteria to identify relevant information on the research variables. The scientific articles were collected through Pubmed, Scielo, Science Direct, Journal of Aging and Physical Activity, European Scientific Journal, Scribd, Emasf, Recyt, and PEDro database. The variables studied were motor control and aging, focusing on exercise. Articles published in English and Spanish between 2018 and 2023 were chosen. Aging is a stage that entails a gradual decline in physical and mental capacities as a wide variety of molecular and cellular damage accumulates over time. In this sense, after a certain age, health often weakens, increasing the vulnerability and fragility of older people. Motor control is a fundamental tool to complement active aging for the individual, being also a practical way to prevent diseases by activating their structures and avoiding a massive deterioration in their system; the benefit of applying it at this stage of life, accompanied by exercise drives the person to lead a better quality of life by re-educating healthy habits resulting in complete aging.
