Cuir clib leis | Achoimre: | In the Guano canton, province of Chimborazo, no effective strategies or mechanisms have been developed to guarantee the conservation of the natural heritage or its sustainable use. This lack has caused a progressive loss of natural resources, as well as a decrease in tourism development opportunities in the region. In this context, the main objective of this research was to analyze the relationship between natural heritage conservation and existing sustainability mechanisms in the canton. The methodology used combined a documentary and field approach, adopting a non-experimental design, given that the variables were not intentionally manipulated. In addition, it was descriptive and correlational, since it sought to measure the degree of relationship between cultural tourism and sustainable development. The study was cross-sectional, since the data were collected at a single point in the research process through surveys. The results obtained revealed that there is no statistically significant relationship between natural heritage and sustainability mechanisms, with a p-value of 0.687 and a correlation coefficient of 0.185, indicating a weak relationship. These findings underscore the need to implement the proposed strategies, focused on strengthening the conservation of natural heritage and promoting sustainable tourism development in the Guano canton. |
