| Resumo: | The application of methods and techniques of teaching mathematics is essential in the learning process to identify its relationship with the academic performance of students in the tenth year of the Special Education Unit Nazarene in the academic year 2014-2015. This research aims to help young people improve their academic performance, analyzing the bibliographic reference could clarify doubts and observe the methods of teaching and learning applied to students in the tenth year of basic education, identify methods and active and passive teaching techniques used by teachers of mathematics if they help the student in the teaching-learning process and implement active and passive techniques in students through a tutorial. To carry out this research, the scientific method is applied, the design of this research is bibliographic and field, a survey for gathering information was applied with 26 students, 85% students said that is easier to learn in a didactic way, 46% said the teach does not teach in a didactic way, 96% teachers must use new methods to motivate students to learn and finally 73% express that they would like to have math guide that facilitates learning and improvement of academic performance. The conclusion is that the application of a mathematics tutorial helps to improve academic performance, their understanding, it allows the students to build their knowledge in a didactic way based on Piaget's theory. |
