Sumari:The general objective of this research was to analyze the representation of politics and violence in Linares according to the literary position of Iván Égüez, one of his most famous works, which reflected the thought of Ecuadorian society in the twentieth century, knowing its political, social and literary context. The methodology used corresponds to a qualitative approach. Therefore, it is a documentary and descriptive research whose body of studies comprises the work. Some methods were applied to analyze and interpret the information, such as historical-logical, analytical synthetic, content analysis, literary analysis, and hermeneutics sheets, as well as documentary and content analysis methods. The results of the research specify that the representation of politics and violence in La Linares is reflected in the social circumstances of an era full of corruption, deceit, oppression, inequality, social injustice, and violent acts, in turn, becomes a testimony of the struggle of women for their rights, both in the past and in the present and the future. By considering all the social, political, economic, and cultural implications that this work and its protagonist have in Ecuadorian history, to conclude that literary creativity, the denunciation of women's social conditions and injustice, the generation of proposals for action and the creation of fantastic spaces to suggest uncomfortable truths, They share a common goal: the search for truth.
