| Riassunto: | This research explores oral expression as a fundamental tool for resolving emotional conflicts, particularly in childhood, when communication skills are still developing. The study focuses on children aged 8 to 10 in the fifth grade, section A, at Fe y Alegría Public Elementary School in Riobamba, Chimborazo province. It examines how emotional conflicts—such as shame, nervousness, and fear—negatively impact their well-being and ability to build healthy relationships. The primary objective was to analyze emotions through oral expression, identifying key characteristics of emotional conflicts to select appropriate intervention strategies. This process aimed to address students' needs effectively and assess their progress. A qualitative approach was employed, using non-participant observation and interviews as data collection methods. The instruments included a field diary, an observation guide, and an interview guide. The sample consisted of seven children who displayed notable behavioral indicators of emotional conflict, such as sweating, hand tremors, and avoidance of eye contact. These students were intentionally selected to engage in oral expression strategies, including assertive communication, active listening, and empathy, all of which encouraged conscious and reflective dialogue. The findings demonstrated that implementing appropriate oral expression strategies significantly improved participants’ self-esteem and confidence. A noticeable reduction in their fear of communication was observed, along with an enhanced ability to express emotions and engage in school activities. Furthermore, the development of communication skills fostered better social interactions, promoting harmonious relationships and reducing conflicts arising from difficulties in emotional expression. |
