| Summary: | The purpose of this study was to carry out the diagnosis of the family context in the socio - educational development of elementary basic general education students of the Sicalpa Educational Unit. A mixed approach was used, through the data collection that was organized into statistics, allowing a clear understanding of the interactions between parents and children to the benefit of the socio-educational development of elementary basic education students in the Sicalpa Educational Unit. The scope of the study was exploratory, since this problem has not been studied in the identified location. The group under study was made up of 28 fathers and mothers at the Sicalpa Educational Unit. The technique used was the survey and as an instrument a structured questionnaire. The results highlight the parents hope for their children an access to higher education, as part of their future desires, although in some situations these goals are limited to the level of secondary education and the development of entrepreneurial projects. Furthermore, parents expect among other qualities for their children, being brave, respectful of children and adults and working in a group It is essential that parents support their children in the teaching-learning process, helping the children to have confidence in their parents, this will motivate children to develop their qualities and abilities, helping them to improve in the academic process. |
