| 總結: | The present research aims to determine climate change's effects on potato production yields in 5 Andean provinces of Ecuador, period 2008-2018. A microeconomic model of the agricultural production function was applied to validate the hypothesis. The database of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (INAMHI) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) was used for the testing. The indicators generated were processed through a panel data analysis. The research is divided into three chapters. Chapter I emphasizes the theoretical foundation of the function of agricultural production and its behavior in the face of climate change; Chapter II describes the research methodology, the design, the population and sample, the techniques and instruments used to collect and process the information obtained; finally, Chapter III deals with the results obtained, which show that the effects of the variables that explain climate change on potato production yields were positive up to a certain maximum point, after which the effect becomes negative. After the contestation, it was found that the temperature and precipitation levels that maximize the production yield are equal to 15.2 °C and 4.33 (considering that it is in logarithms which is equivalent to 77 mm), respectively, where the graph of this relationship has the shape of an inverted U (concave). |
