Gaia:The objective of this research was to estimate the competitiveness index of PYMES in the manufacturing industry of the Guano canton, which responds to the problem posed: What is the competitiveness index of SMEs in the manufacturing industry of the Guano? For which this research work has a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental, documentary, descriptive and field research design, for which a sample of 184 companies that make up the manufacturing industry was taken through a survey, made up of 50 questions that analyze each of the dimensions of competitiveness (strategic planning, production and operations, quality assurance, marketing, accounting and finance, human resources and environmental management). Consequently, each of the dimensions of competitiveness was analyzed, generating results for each dimension, for this each weight or weighting was demonstrated, estimating the business competitiveness index of the manufacturing industry of the Guano canton. As a result of the research when analyzing the information on the competitiveness index of SMEs in the manufacturing industry, it is shown that the greatest strength of the manufacturing industries is the permit for their operation with 0.59, and the lowest valuation with 0.31 correspond to the variety of suppliers; That is to say, it is in stage II Acceptable - Regular level of competitiveness.
