Summary:ABSTRACT: This research aims to examinate the psychological well-being and competitive anxiety in professional athletes. The research was conducted in Riobamba in 2022. It included a quantitative, bibliographic, documentary, cross-sectional, non-experimental, descriptive, and correlational approach. The population was made up of an anonymous database of 165 professional athletes from several Riobamba sports clubs. Finally, a complete database of 125 professional athletes was created using inclusion and exclusion criteria. In order to gather information, the Psychological Well-Being Scale of Ryff and the CSAI-2R Competitive Anxiety Inventory scores were recorded on an observation form. The results indicated that 48% of the population had high levels of competitive anxiety, and 46.4% of the population showed high levels of psychological well-being. The statistic value of r of Pearson is -.180, while the significance value is.044. As a result, it can be inferred that there is a significant negative correlation among psychological well-being and competitive anxiety. However, this correlation is low probably due to a small amount of data for the study and could also be connected to the presence of other factors.
