| Summary: | Currently, the main factors that influence the consumption of drinking water in a population are: socio-demographic, psychological, political economic, urban model and climatic conditions. Research carried out on 11 villages with less than 150,000 inhabitants between 2013 and 2015, contains monthly and semi-annual information on drinking water consumption and socio-economic parameters, weather, customs and water quality, classified according to previously identified socioeconomic strata. In this research, linear models have been established that have been statistically validated among the socioeconomic factors (number of sanitary appliances, accumulated inflation, per capita payment) and drinking water consumption. The number of sanitary devices was analyzed according to population ranges already established. From 0 to 8,000 inhabitants, the greater the number of sanitary devices per capita, the lower the per capita consumption of drinking water, the opposite happens for populations of 8,000 to 30,000 inhabitants and from 30,000 to 150,000 inhabitants, the greater number of sanitary devices being greater the per capita consumption of drinking water. The cumulative inflation and the per capita payment are analyzed according to the administrative planning zones, these being zone 3 and zone 5 with sufficient data for this study. In zone 3, there was no incidence of cumulative inflation in the per capita consumption of drinking water, small populations of 0 to 8,000 inhabitants have a per capita payment of less than $1, medium populations of 8,000 to 30,000 and large populations of 30,000. At 150,000 inhabitants, they have a per capita payment that varies between $1 to $5. Small populations consume 33.33% more than medium and large populations. In zone 5, there was no incidence of per capita payment in drinking water consumption, however, it has a per capita payment that varies between $1 and $6, similar to the payment greater than $1 in zone 3. With the same payment per capita consumption of drinking water in zone 3 is greater than that in zone 5. |
