सारांश:The discomfort is one of the major causes in post-surgical patients, specially if it alters the mobility and autonomy, being indispensable the nursing action is oriented towards the satisfaction of needs and are framed the aspects: physical, psychological, socials and spiritual healing. The following study is developed with the aim to determine the discomfort of post-surgical traumatology patients, their care needs and the actions of nursing professionals focused to maintain the comfort of patients post-operative traumatology, using the assessment of needs of Virginia Henderson and the identification defining characteristics and the factors related to the diagnosis Discomfort of the NANDA 2015-2017. A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out with a quantitative approach with all the patients attended in a second-level Hospital of the Zona de Salud in Ecuador during the months of January to April 2018. The 70% of the participating patients study, have perceived the activities of professionals nursing on providing comfort, for those patients the home environment represents a key aspect that should be taken into account during their hospital stay. The most common defining characteristics were: dissatisfaction with the situation, feeling of discomfort, symptoms of discomfort. Related factors included altering the state of physical safety.
