Sumari:The adolescence is characterized by dramatic and rapid change in the physical, mental, emotional and social development, causing contraindications in the process of finding a balance with themselves and the society that tecnagers want to join. Within the execution practices in the Education Unit “Isabel Godín” a number of problems were observed emotional adaptation, but above all, more worrying was that there was a large number of students with low academic, performance associated with attention deficit of students, this study has the general objective “ to determine the relationship of attention deficit whit achievement by applying a test to suggest alternative solutions to the problem evidenced by the students of the tenth year of general basic education parallels “A” – “B” of the Education Unit “Isabel Godín” in Riobamba city; the direct beneficiaries were students, for greater the objective also worked with teachers and parents, with the results of research and analysis could contribute with new ideas, recommendations for future investigations, to carry out work was used the scientific method through deductive- inductive processes allows us to reach the general to the particular, analytical – syntetic generalization of problems; such research is descriptive – explanatory where it was determined why the facts, establishing relations of cause and effect, the desing of the research is not experimental, field because the information was obtained directly from the scene; the study type was transverse; the population were 60 students; test was taken on the independent variable to the dependent variable was seen in the report card, from which very important information was obtained the results suggest that attention deficit affects academic performance.
