Summary:In this research, the lack of money, lack of studies of the parents, and absence of classes affect the school performance of the students of the "Vicente Chavez School." This research aims to determine the socioeconomic factors that affect academic performance during the pandemic. The theoretical framework includes essential aspects and criteria on the socioeconomic factors that hinder the better educational achievement of the students. The methodology used is the mixed research approach, non-experimental design, by level or scope, descriptive, by place, field and bibliographic, type of study, by time, the methods are: Inductive, deductive, analytical, and synthetic. The study populations were twenty-seven people, thirteen students, and fourteen parents. Two surveys were used for data collection. The same surveys applied to students and parents, with twelve multiplechoice questions. At the time the results were obtained, it was possible to verify that parents or other family members do not have the necessary economic resources for virtual education because they have an economic income of fewer than two hundred dollars. At the same time, they cannot provide help to those they represent because their level of education is primary. It was also verified that children do not have adequate space to do their homework. These are the causes why students lack good academic performance during the pandemic.
