Sumario:This research is intended to make a methodological proposal for the design of a community center that serves as a reference in the recovery of ancestral architecture for the central Andean area. To do this, a bibliographic analysis, interviews with members of communities in the central Andean area and architectural studies of traditional constructions are applied. Among the main results, a methodology was generated that includes three areas: ecological, cultural and architectural, of which the category for place and environment for the ecological field is generated, the Andean worldview category for the cultural field and the categories of spatiality for the architectural field, each with their respective indicators. In conclusion, ancestral architecture can be recovered by applying the methodology proposed to the Salinas de Guaranda parish, since it creates guidelines for a design that combines traditional and contemporary strategies that adapt to the environment, using local materials and including a worldview
