| Riassunto: | The intestinal parasitism does not allow the correct absorption of nutrients which generates malnutrition causing low student performance and lack of concentration, being a public health problem. The objective of this research is to establish the prevalence in students from 12 to 18 years old, for which the samples were analyzed through the laboratory examination and the determination of the frequency of the causative agent by gender and age of the participants. For the achievement of these, the indicators were established through the descriptive cross-sectional study of a mixed approach in the Millennium Educational Unit of the Penipe canton. The subsequent results were tabulated through the Microsoft Excel information package and the samples analyzed by the laboratory technique; coproparasitic, obtaining as a result that 27% of the population presents parasitosis, where the female gender between 12 and 14 years represented a prevalence of 34% followed by the male gender with the same age ranges with 32%. The most reported parasite was the Entamoeba histolytica that represented 15% in the female gender within the aforementioned age range, while the Entamoeba coli in the male gender exhibits 18% at the same ages. Taking into account that Entamoeba histolytica represents great importance for being a cause of serious amebiasis. As a conclusión, the prevalence of parasitism in the Penipe canton represented a percentage to be taken into consideration since the sample studied denotes proportion of the total population. |
