Sindrome de Burnout y autoestima en el Personal de Medicina Interna del Hospital General Docente Riobamba, período 2018-2019

Burnout Syndrome is a very frequent disorder in the hospital environment, which is presented as a response to chronic work stress, is characterized by a state of intense exhaustion, low motivation, and an irritable mood of the individual. Among the areas affected by this syndrome are: work, personal and family may be self-esteem a variable harmed. The present study was carried out with a quantitative, descriptive, transversal, non-experimental approach, with the aim of analyzing the SB level and self-esteem in the personnel of the Internal Medicine Service of the General Teaching Hospital of Riobamba. We worked with a sample consisting of 30 rotating inmates of medicine and treating physicians. The presence of SB was measured using the "Maslach Burnout Inventory" test and the "Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale" was used for self-esteem. The following results were obtained: 46.7% of the studied population do not have risk of suffering SB. However, 30% of the population presents SB. The average level of self-esteem is the one that occurs most frequently in the investigation. With these results, a psychological intervention proposal was proposed to be applied in internal medicine personnel. In conclusion, the population studied has a tendency to suffer SB and presence of SB that affects the self-esteem of internal medicine personnel.
