| Riassunto: | The main objective of this research was to use the problem method in the teaching of operations with fractions in the ninth year of basic education of the Unidad Educativa Tecnica Victor Proano Carrion, Calpi parish, Riobamba canton, Chimborazo province, period 2016 - 2017. In order to improve the teaching - learning processes in this subject, this project is supported under a field research framework with a descriptive character having used the observation for the data collection, which allowed to know in depth the needs of the students, a questionnaire was applied with closed questions to the 40 students that correspond to the year in mention and the teachers of the area of mathematics were interviewed, these data were tabulated and analyzed to later be discussed and corroborate the significance of this investigation. This research took into account the philosophical, methodological, psychological and epistemological foundations relevant to its realization and applied to the reality of the educational unit to which it is directed. From all this study it was possible to conclude that the problem method not only influences positively in mathematics, but also in any practical subject such as geometry, trigonometry and others. |
