| Streszczenie: | The so-called "fiesta brava" is considered a tradition for fans of the bullfighting world, which, beyond being viewed as a celebration, is perceived as an art and a cultural expression. This study aims to analyze the discourse of the printed media in Riobamba regarding this tradition. Specifically, it seeks to identify how Riobamba's printed newspapers portrayed the Señor del Buen Suceso bullfighting fair as a cultural expression during the period 2010–2019. A qualitative methodology was employed, based on discourse analysis of the newspapers La Prensa and Los Andes concerning the Señor del Buen Suceso bullfighting fair. Additionally, aspects such as news presentation, images used, and language employed were analyzed. The research design was non-experimental, as no modifications were made to the object of study; observations and analyses were conducted solely to better understand this cultural manifestation. As a result, 99 publications related to the Señor del Buen Suceso bullfighting fair were identified in the printed media Los Andes and La Prensa. It was concluded that the newspapers disseminated this information through informative notes, reports, and chronicles, showing that they have not fully embraced new technologies. It is recommended to present local cultural events digitally, leveraging current technologies to reach a broader audience and meet the needs of new generations. |
