Factores Socioeconómicos y Desarrollo Turístico en la parroquia Palmira, cantón Guamote, provincia de Chimborazo.

The objective of this research is to analyze the relationship between socioeconomic factors and tourism development in Palmira parish, Guamote canton, province of Chimborazo. The methodology is descriptive with a mixed approach. This work is of a documentary, correlational, cross-sectional, non-experimental design. The research consists of two stages; the first one, through the use of surveys directed to 239 people belonging to the economically active population of the parish and the second one, through the use of surveys directed to 15 workers of the Parish Gad of Palmira, data were processed and analyzed using the SPSS statistical program, the Cronbach's Alpha method was used and the reliability of the instruments was tested; in addition, the Pearson coefficient method was used to test the hypotheses proposed. Based on the information gathered, it can be concluded that socioeconomic factors are not related to tourism development in Palmira parish, Guamote canton, Chimborazo province. Finally, once the results, conclusions and recommendations have been analyzed, the proposal is presented, which responds to the deficient tourism development in the parish, for which a SWOT analysis was conducted. In this sense, we propose the implementation of a training plan to strengthen the development of tourism in the parish, and therefore improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of Palmira parish.
