| סיכום: | ABSTRACT: The present research has shown that root canal treatment is one of the least invasive procedures within conservative dentistry. The purpose of endodontics is to keep the teeth in the mouth for longer, avoiding extraction, thus not altering the main functions of the oral cavity, providing greater security to people in relation to dental aesthetics and achieving a balance of the stomatognathic apparatus. Therefore, in this research work, the importance of each phase was established, focused on determining the main irrigants in endodontics, their effectiveness in disinfecting the root canals and eliminating the smear layer as well as the microorganisms present in oral pathologies. The study was carried out through a bibliographic review by compiling high-impact articles and publications in relevant scientific databases with a limit of 10 years ago to date; they were analyzed in depth, obtaining a total of 59 articles. . The analysis shows that irrigation in endodontics has a high impact on the success of the treatment, which is why the main solutions used and the effect they cause when they come into contact with the tooth were identified. On the other hand, irrigation has a positive effect. in the elimination of the smear layer, debris, microorganisms and the cause of the infection. From the evidence collected, the uses, advantages, disadvantages of each irrigant and the importance of combining the different solutions to achieve endodontic success are established. Keywords: smear layer, irrigation, disinfection, smear layer, cleaning. |
