Construcción de ciudadanía a través del periodismo de opinión de Diario La Prensa, enero - junio 2023

ABSTRACT: The study focuses on the analysis of the edition of Diario La Prensa during the first semester (January-June) of 2023. This has allowed us to identify and understand the processes of citizenship construction that are developed through the various genres of opinion present in the newspaper, such as the editorial, the opinion article, the cartoons, the section "The good, the bad and the ugly", the opinion of the people and the free forum, which, when applying the formula, it was determined that There are a total of 182 days of publication. Each of these contents was analyzed from political, social, economic, cultural and sports perspectives. This research follows a qualitative approach supported by functionalist theory and is supported by techniques such as documentary review, review matrix, content analysis and analysis matrix. In addition, it is enriched with interviews with professionals with experience in the field. From the total population, 50 opinion pieces published over the course of six months were selected. In the interviews carried out with the communication expert and official of Diario La Prensa, the importance of building citizenship was highlighted, and that the newspaper strives to create spaces through campaigns, projects and events aimed at actively involving its audience.
