Тойм:Millions of people worldwide suffer from the chronic, autoimmune, debilitating disease known as arthritis rheumatoid (AR). Biological therapy has become a viable and successful treatment option for RA, reducing symptoms and enhancing quality of life for patients by blocking particular immune system components. The purpose of this study is to establish the efficacy and safety of biological therapy in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis by conducting a bibliographic evaluation of existing scientific publications. A descriptive, qualitative, and documentary investigation was carried out. Articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and randomized experiments from high-impact journals published in English and Spanish between 2019 and 2023 about the efficacy and safety of biological therapy in the treatment of RA were examined. The search was performed in databases such as PubMed, Scopus, ClinicalKey, and UpToDate. Biological therapy has proven effective in controlling inflammation and the progression of RA. However, the immunogenicity of the drugs can vary, affecting the treatment response and increasing the risk of side effects. An early and aggressive approach with a combination of conventional and biological disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) is essential to improve long-term outcomes. Furthermore, the importance of a personalized approach in treatment is highlighted, considering the individual characteristics of the patient and their risk profile. Biological therapy represents a significant advancement in the treatment of RA, but its use must be carefully monitored to ensure optimal results
