| Sumario: | This research report is based on the collection of information on the intangible cultural heritage of the Palmira parish, in Guamote canton, Chimborazo province, with the purpose of rescuing the different cultural manifestations, to preserve and conservate the legacy of historical memory of this parish, which over time has been lost. The Palmira parish is characterized as a town that has developed an identity in both its customs and traditions that distinguishes it from other people, the inhabitants of this parish try to ensure that new generations of young people do not lose the legacy of their ancestors and once they can be transmitted to the new descendants. The methods most used in this investigation were the exploratory and descriptive, which allowed to collect information through direct observation and in-depth interviews directed to the inhabitants of this parish, mainly to adults because they are a group that know and they are very wise in knowing their own culture, facilitating the complementation of the information required based on their experiences. The testimonies of the inhabitants were analyzed in order to write and fill the respective registration forms of the National Institute of Intangible Cultural Heritage (INPC), following this methodology it was possible to obtain 20 intangible heritage assets. |
