Tóm tắt: | The research entitled “Gender Discrimination and the Principle of Equality in Cases of Male Victims of Violence” analyzes the legal and social inequalities faced by male victims of violence. The main objective is to examine gender discrimination and the principle of equality through the study of legal regulations, doctrine, and specific cases to identify the challenges faced by these individuals. The methodology used is non-experimental qualitative, with the technique of interviewing legal professionals, male victims, and officials of the justice system in Riobamba, analyzing the data through induction, analysis, and synthesis. The main results reveal that, although there are legal frameworks that promote equality, in practice, legal protection is predominantly focused on women, leaving men at a disadvantage and facing social stigmatization and lack of recognition as legitimate victims, which limits their access to protection measures and adequate support, perpetuating the impunity of aggressors. Therefore, it is concluded that there is a need to recognize the particularities of gender violence that affect men and to develop public policies and programs that ensure adequate protection and support for all victims of violence, regardless of their gender, recommending the creation of specific policies and programs, as well as the continuous training of judges and judicial system personnel to ensure the equitable application of the laws. |
