Summary:RESUME The objective of the project was to determine the Vickers microhardness (HV) of a hybrid glass ionomer when applying fluorinated gels. The research design was observational, comparative, descriptive, cross-sectional. The study population was made up of 30 hybrid glass ionomer discs (Vitremer 3M ESPE), 4 millimeters in diameter and 4 millimeters thick, based on the ISO 4049 standard, being distributed into 3 study groups; Control group: hybrid glass ionomer discs stored in artificial saliva (Saliv By Denture) at 25 ℃ for 7 days, Group 2: hybrid glass ionomer discs applied 1.23% acidified fluorphosphate (Maquira) for 4 minutes, Group 3 : Hybrid glass ionomer discs applied for 4 minutes 2% neutral sodium fluoride (Fluofar). Microhardness measurements were made through the Vickers microdurometer showing the control group 15.25 HV, group 2 obtained 12.25 HV and group 3 obtained 13.22 HV showing group 2 and 3 a significant loss of substance unlike the control group, being the group 2 the one with the greatest decrease in microhardness. Statistically significant differences were evidenced in the Shapiro-Wilk test between the HV values of the control group and the samples of acidified 1.23% fluorphosphate (p = 0.00) and of neutral sodium fluoride at 2% (p = 0.00), finally differences were observed between the HV values of acidulated 1.23% fluoride and 2% neutral sodium fluoride (p = 0.00) Keywords: Vickers microhardness, Hybrid glass ionomer, 1.23% Fluorphosphate, 2% Sodium Fluoride.
