The objective of the research project is a bibliographic review obtaining informative data that help to determine the tumor marker with greater specificity in the diagnosis of tumor processes, because it is a health problem at the local, regional and global level, taking in consideration the utility of laboratory tests as effective analyzes at the time of determining oncological processes. This research is carried out under a descriptive level bibliographical documentary design. From a population of 71 bibliographic sources, inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied for its development, taking 54 updated sources, reviewed and verified by researchers, the same ones that were selected from repositories, books, and scientific databases, with a line of time of 7 years. Among the information obtained, the CYFRA 21.1 marker stands out, which is a first-line test, its function being the determination of lung cancer. Like CA 72.4, it presents an elevation of its result in the presence of an alteration at the level of the stomach, thus being very useful for the diagnosis of malignant disease. Adequate knowledge of the usefulness of these types of laboratory tests is essential for clinical evaluation and early diagnosis of cancerous diseases.
