This research project was carried out to improve the limited application of geotourism in the Penipe canton, located in Chimborazo province. Likewise, determining the influence of the environmental interpretation variable on geotourism sites within the canton, considering an object of study essential aspects such as conservation interprets the geological heritage within the area as an object of study. Surveys were used to collect the informative data of the two variables, which were directed to tourists for the environmental interpretation variable. Similarly, for the geotourism variable, the survey was applied to workers who are part of the consortium of the Tungurahua Volcano Geopark project. The methodology used was quantitative due to the use of statistical procedures with bibliographic support for the proper data collection and the experimental method. It was of great help when carrying out the theoretical framework and the preparation of surveys created under the indicators found in this research. Finally, after analyzing the results obtained, a signage system was defined for the Tungurahua Volcano Geopark as a proposal to improve the quality of the product offered to visitors. Through its interpretation, they acquire new knowledge regarding care and maintenance. With the signals strategically located, they are informed and get access to the destination point easily. |
