Izvleček:The present research project aimed to analyze the self-concept in visually disability people, taking into account the analysis of 51 medical records of the participants, the methodology used was biographical-type with sectional design and qualitative approach using an observation sheet as an instrument for the revision of the relevant documents. data analysis shows that within birth and acquired disability they have 64.7% indicating an average level of emotional self-concept , in turn the physical self-concept with 58,8% people with birth disabilities and 82,4% with an average level of people with acquired disabilities, differing from the level of visual disability we show that men and women present an absolute level giving us a result of 80 and 100% respectively. Finally, the reasons for disability were analyzed showing that men have 80% acquired disability and women have birth disability with 54.2%; evidence of the most common causes such as: Amblyopia with 37.5% in birth disability and diabetes with 25.5% in acquired disability. Concluding that most of the population has an average level of self-concept as the members as a whole acquired their disability and have an absolute level of visual disability, it is intended by the proposed solution to achieve a positive construction of it to achieve a comprehensive progress of the individual.
