| Shrnutí: | The current research seeks to determine how carbon stock relates into the ecological systems in Achupallas parish, by applying KRIGING interpolation model. The study area comprises 1016 km2 and it is located at an altitude range between 2000 to 4000 m above sea level, the average temperature is 8.9°C, and precipitation is about 1406.55 mm. Two phases were carried out in the investigation, by experimental and clerical work. In the first phase, we used cluster sampling. It consisted in 12 clusters arranged over different strata: 5 in moorlands, 5 in crops and 2 in pasture; all at different depths such as 0-10; 10-20 and 20-30 cm. The samples were analyzed in the labs, by four parameters: bulk density, moisture, organic matter content and carbon content (loss on ignition). In the second phase, the carbon content values were taken, generating a georeferenced database for the implementation of the KRIGING interpolation model. The results of every stratum´s test showed a carbon content of 224.33 Mg/ha in moorlands; 158.16 Mg/ha in crops and 166.25 Mg/ha in pasture; with an average standard deviation of 13.16 and a variation range between strata of 191.25 Mg/ha. The prediction error for the implementation of the interpolation model was 5.97% and a level of reliability of 94.03% (considered as a high reliability value) according to the Kappa index. From this data, cartographic information was generated, showing the soil carbon content; this information may be used to implement compensation and quantification projects for eco-system services. |
