Conocimiento acerca de la sexualidad en estudiantes de la carrera de Psicopedagogía de la Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo

The main objective of this research study was to “Determinar el nivel de conocimiento acerca de la sexualidad que tienen los estudiantes de la carrera de Psicopedagogía de la Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo”; sexuality is a complex and multidimensional phenomenon that goes beyond the sexual act itself. It is understood as the expression of identity, desires and interpersonal relationships of an individual, influenced by the sociohistorical and cultural context in which it develops. We emphasize that sexuality encompasses biological, psychological, social and cultural aspects, and that its understanding implies recognizing the diversity of experiences and perspectives. In addition, it is recognized that the evolution of society has allowed a greater openness and understanding of sexuality, promoting both individual and collective well-being. Methodologically, this research was conducted through a quantitative approach; its design is non-experimental, its type of research by the objective is basic, by the field location, by the descriptive scope, by the cross-sectional time where it was possible to establish the level of knowledge of the students; the survey technique was used through its instrument, the questionnaire; The population to which it was applied was the students of the career of Psychopedagogy of the National University of Chimborazo, taking as a sample the students of Fifth and Eighth semester; analysis and interpretation processes were applied through a tabulation process based on the results obtained, which led us to the conclusion that the level of knowledge is medium about sexuality of the students of the career of Psychopedagogy.
