Resumo:This research study presents an analysis of the effects produced by chromatic dispersion in the UDWDM system. Optical transmission systems allow communication over long distances, however, one must consider the various effects that can occur in the transmitted signals due to optical phenomena. Chromatic dispersion is an effect produced in the fiber due to the transmission distance and can cause several effects within the signal such as attenuation and errors during the sending of information. For this reason, OptiSystem software was used to present various simulation scenarios to measure the quality of the designed link. For this purpose, BER, OSNR, and Q-Factor measurements were performed on two types of fiber with different chromatic dispersion coefficients, G652 and G655, at distances of 20, 40, 80, and 120km. It could be observed that there is an excellent link quality for both types of fiber in the C-channel and L-channel at distances from 20 to 80 km; for longer distances, the BER, OSNR, and Q-factor parameters change drastically resulting in poor link quality.
