Resumo:At the mention of a state, one immediately thinks of a very large house with a large family of landowners that have lived there day by day, always connected to the activities of agriculture and livestock. In addition, it evokes the sensation that the surrounding land is endless, full of different animals, trees, crops, and paths. Over time, the “Gangotena” family, the original owners of the Guayllabamba estate, has been one of the most important families in Ecuador, with influence in politics, industry, academics, and agriculture. The family´s influence, since the early years of the Republic of Ecuador, extend not only to Quito, but also to various parts of the surrounding provinces, where they acquired numerous lands and properties “pc4” that were sold over the years. As part of a graduation project with applied research and/or development components of the master’s degree in Restoration and Conservation of Cultural Assets, specializing in Built Heritage, it has been proposed to conduct a diagnosis of the current condition of the Guayllabamba estate house pc1. This involves identifying its pathologies pc2 and suggesting appropriate treatments to ensure its preservation pc3 and enhancement that allows for providing better conditions for its use, as it is one of the properties with a historical testimonial value in the Chambo Canton.
