Resumo:Considering that ergonomic risks are one of the most important and latent problems in occupational health and safety, the purpose of this research work is to analyze the ergonomic risk of the personnel working in the different areas of the Hospital General Clínica Metropolitana de Riobamba. The study methodology began with inspections of 9 areas (management, administrative, laboratory, collection, reception, nursing, kitchen, cleaning warehouse, laundry) classified within this hospital, which proved to be an important source of descriptive information where it was determined that 3 areas require greater amplitude per square meter while 1 space has difficult access and mobility to perform the different activities that are executed in each job. Subsequently, a specific analysis of the most affected ergonomic risk factors was carried out using a quali-quantitative, documentary, bibliographic and in-situ methodology, through a Nordic questionnaire, REBA method (on dynamic and static efforts), OWAS (observation of postures), ROSA (positions in offices or with display screen) and NIOSH (load-handling), to 37 people working in the Hospital Clínica Metropolitana. This study was carried out with 35 workers, divided into 8 administrative and 27 operative workers, where 20 people were found with musculoskeletal discomfort, of which 8 have a high level of ergonomic risk within the administration, cleaning and laundry jobs that this hospital currently has. Obtaining results that determined to propose strategies to reduce the high ergonomic risk to avoid ergonomic diseases or disorders, through observations for the improvement of the workplace and the design of an ergonomic risk manual that determines the corrective measures of the high level risks, where all the areas can also be involved to reduce the ergonomic risks associated with the health of the personnel of the Hospital Clínica Metropolitana de Riobamba.
