總結:This research analyzes mysticism and the surrealism in the novel Los Sangurimas by José de la Cuadra, highlighting how these elements shape the identity of the work and enrich its narrative. Through a methodology based on hermeneutics and analysis content, the study explores the symbolic and stylistic aspects that establish the novel's mystical and surreal dimension. To achieve this purpose, first, the mystical and surreal elements present in the work were identified, revealing the fusion between reality and fantasy, as well as the influence of popular beliefs and superstitions. Second, the characterization of the characters was analyzed, emphasizing how De la Cuadra endows the Sangurima family with legendary and symbolic traits that transform them into mythical figures within the story. Finally, the historical context was examined, situating the novel in a period of social and political instability in Ecuador, which influences the construction of its fantastic atmosphere and the representation of power in rural areas. The findings of this research confirm that Los Sangurimas is a work that transcends realism by incorporating magical and supernatural elements to reinforce its social critique and represent the collective imagination of the Ecuadorian people. In this way, José de la Cuadra achieves a unique narrative where oral tradition, mysticism, and the surreal intertwine, endowing the story with unparalleled symbolic and cultural strength.
