الملخص:This research work was analyzed to trengthen the cultural identity of the newscast Chasqui Tv, in young people from 15 to 25 years of the Lizarzaburu parish, canton Riobamba during the period October 2016 – March 2017. It was identified that, through this intercultural information, young people put into practice the traditions, culture and most importantly the Kichwa language. The theory was based on functionalism that seeks the manipulation of the mind and heart of people, also the theory of the hypodermic needle that injects the different contents disseminated through the media in this case television. The results showed that 51% of young people observe the Chasqui TV newscast on weekends, since the others prefer to observe other TV news. The methodology applied in the research work in the descriptive one because it explains in detail how the intercultural information helps strengthen cultural identity in the sample studied. The cultural identity is strengthened because the newscast informs in both Kichwa and Spanish languages, also spreads the traditions, dress, religion and language of the peoples and nationalities of Chimborazo. The most watched segment of the intercultural news is the most relevant events within the province, news of rural parishes and the segment of interviews. The media that disseminates their messages in two languages also helps strengthen the cultural identity of the people.
