Тойм:The present investigation was carried out in the "Simón Rodríguez" Educational Unit of Licán. The main objective was to analyze the use of social networks and self-esteem. It was conducted with a population of 73 students between 12 and 15 years old. The research was of documentary type, the non-experimental, quantitative cross-sectional design and the level of descriptive research. The techniques and instruments used were compiled from the database of the student registry: Questionnaire to determine the use of social networks (RS) and the Stanley Coopersmith Inventory to determine the level of self-esteem. The results obtained were: the most used social network is Facebook with 55% of students, 19% use Messenger, Instagram is used by 16% of students, WhatsApp is used by 7% of students, and YouTube portal uses 3 % of students, who connect through the cell phone from home with a frequency of two to three times per day. In terms of self-esteem, 59% have a high average of self-esteem, 37% have a low average of self-esteem and 4% have low self-esteem. Finally, the results indicated that there is no positive relationship between the use of social networks and self-esteem. According to the results obtained, a psychoeducational intervention proposal was designed. Keywords: Social networks, self-esteem, adolescent students.
