The objective of the present research is to analyze the inventory control system of “Leon Store house” of Riobamba city and how this affects business profitability. The investigation began with the problem approach that “Leon storehouse” maintains in the control of its relation with the margins of profitability obtained from 2014 and 2015. This information allowed to define the objectives and the reasons for the study. The theoretical framework was developed starting from the generalities of Leon storehouse in order to proceed with the basic variables of study: Inventory Control and Profitability. The methodology was based of the deductive method, taking as a reference the general knowledge of the variables to analyze what happens in the company. This research was not an experimental design because it did not intervene in the variables. The investigation was taken of the information contained in the documents and the financial reports in the place where the facts occurred, so the types of research correspond a descriptive, documental and the field process, The information was obtained by the personnel working in the company, to whom surveys and interviews were applied, according to their relationship with the object of study. As a result, is determined the lack of a control method for documents such as: inventory and population perspectives on the changes that would contribute to the profitability of the company to get an Inventory Management Guide that clearly specifies an ideal method for the activity commercial in the “Leon Storehouse”.
