| Shrnutí: | ABSTRACT: The edentulism is considered a problem from both the aesthetic part of a person as functional of the stomatognathic apparatus. The main aim in this research was analyze how to affect the edentulism in the production of phonemes when a person speaks, in 42 patients fron nursing home “Estupiñan Institute” that is located in Latacunga. The investigation was descriptive, observational and documentary. The techniques used were the observation and test through the clinical history and a questionnaire that measure the capability phonetic articulation (PAF), which consisted in the patients had to repeat a list of words that had a level of difficulty keeping in mind the edentulism, the information was processed by SPSS v.25. program. The group of study was formed for 13 people with partial edentulism with a 31,00% where 3 people were men and 10 were women and the 69% total edentulous where 8 were men and 21 were women. In the sample was observed the most of the patients had phonemic articulation troubles to their edentulism, having most difficulty with labiodental phonemes: /f/ 50% linguodentals: /t/ 76%, d 64%, linguointerdentals: /cz/ 78%, linguoalveolar: /s/ 77%, n 74%, /l/ 83%, /r/ 80%, /rr/ 74% in total edentulous patients, in partial edentulism patients the problem was emphasized in labiodental phonemes: /f/ 50%, linguopalatales /ll/ 100%. It evindenced differences statistically significant of the reproduction of phonemes before and after of prosthetic treatment (p=0,00). |
