Sumario:ABSTRAC Midwifery is understood by midwifery (associated with childbirth) and swimming (use of the body schema to cause movement and displacement in the water), therefore, this activity stimulates the baby in the water through the interaction of the mother and others playful inputs and direction of exercises aimed at neurodevelopment and early stimulation. The objective of the study was to validate the theory of the midwifery method, evidencing its effects on the neurodevelopment of the child in its first year of life through the selection of scientific information to contribute to knowledge in the area of Physical and Sports Therapy, therefore which will be very useful for future scientific advances since it will be valuable information for the Physiotherapy area. The applied methodology indicates documentary research, inductive method, descriptive design, with collection, analysis and presentation of data supported by scientific evidence collected from books, magazines, articles, etc. The results obtained indicate that an adequate application of midwifery during the initial year of life will cause positive stimulation and with it an exceptional development.
