Crynodeb:This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions for patients with carpal tunnel syndrome through a scientific literature review guided by PRISMA methodology (57). In addition to identifying the main etiological factors for developing carpal tunnel syndrome in dentists, the standard treatments most used in patients are established. Thus, preventive recommendations are proposed to prevent metacarpal tunnel syndrome from developing. To do this, it used scientific articles and journals indexed through databases such as PubMed, SciELO, DOAJ, Elsevier, and Redalyc in 10 years between 2014 and 2024, where 56 publications of excellence were chosen for the process of Bibliographic review. As a result, the effectiveness of conservative therapy or non-surgical treatment is viable if the carpal tunnel syndrome is limited to being mild or moderate, which can even be controlled with combination treatments that may include splinting. On the other hand, if the syndrome is considered severe, the alternative of choice is surgery. The main etiological factor is the compression of the median nerve due to the execution of repetitive and long-lasting movements. In addition, it may be linked to metabolic or hereditary diseases or even be idiopathic. That is why among the most used treatments is physiotherapy, the first line through which patients choose to follow a treatment that can be combined with oral medication. For this reason, one of the preventive measures to control the development of carpal tunnel syndrome is to perform frequent physical exercise that stimulates blood circulation and relaxes the tense muscles, in addition to performing massages of the entire upper limb and considering the management of the ergonomic techniques most used by dental professionals to avoid the appearance of the pathology is considered.
