Sammanfattning:ABSTRACT: Emotional intelligence is the ability of human beings to perceivetheir own feelings and those of others.Work stress is related to physical and psychological reactions to rigorousor rigid demands in the work context. The objective of this research was to analyze emotional intelligence and work stress in teachers of the Faculty of Business Administration of the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo. It is a quantitative, documentary-type study, descriptive and correlational, with a cross-sectional design; there was a population of 100 teachers between 30 and 70 years of age, 50 men and 50 women. For the collection of information, an anonymous database was taken into account, provided by a higher level academic institution, data obtained through the instruments: "Traite-Meta Mood Scale (TMMS) - 24", to assess emotional intelligence; and the “OIT-OMS Job Stress Questionnaire” to assess job stress. Among the most relevant results, it was found that teachers have low emotional intelligence in its three dimensions with the following percentages; attention 46% of teachers, scarce, clarity 77% and repair 77%. Regarding work stress, 49% of teachers present work stress, the most significant being the intermediate level of stress. It is observed that the investigated population lacks adequate emotional intelligence in the three dimensions: clarity, repair and attention, reflecting a propensity for work stress.
