Crynodeb:The present research, entitled “Urban Toponymy and Heritage Education of the Streets of Chunchi in the Transmission of Local History and Culture,” examines how the names of the streets of Chunchi can be used as tools to promote heritage education and transmit local history and culture. The main objective is to evaluate the relevance of the historical characters that name the streets and their impact on the identity and collective memory of the community. For this purpose, a mixed methodology was used, including the historical analysis of the street names, as well as surveys and interviews with the inhabitants of Chunchi, to measure their knowledge and perception of these characters. The results reveal that there is limited knowledge about the historical characters and their context, which affects the community's connection with its cultural heritage. Based on these findings, educational materials and programs were developed for schools and community activities, with the objective of strengthening local identity and preserving historical memory. In conclusion, this research indicates that the urban toponymy of Chunchi can be a valuable educational tool to reinforce cultural identity and heritage education in the community.
