الملخص:This work presents the implementation of an Electronic Control and Assistance System for Shoulder Neurorehabilitation, intended for children and young people of the “Carlos Garbay Montesdeoca” Specialized Educational Unit located in the city of Riobamba. The design of the system is based on the use of a shoulder wheel mechanism, to which a set of sensors have been incorporated to obtain the turning angle and speed. These data are processed by a microcontroller, which then activates actuators to place the mechanism at the appropriate height and resistance for each child or young person. In addition, a voice assistant was integrated to motivate children and young people to perform better in their rehabilitation exercises. The respective functional tests were carried out, which consisted of performing the shoulder flexion movement with the electronic system and with a traditional treatment, applied to two young people from the institution who suffer from hemiplegia, for a period of 8 days. The results showed that the young man who used the electronic system achieved an average of 137 degrees of rotation, while with the traditional treatment an average of 90 degrees of rotation was achieved, evidencing a notable improvement in rehabilitation with the electronic system. In addition, the optimization calculation in time of use determined that the minimum rehabilitation time necessary is 6 days.
