Resumo:Emotional intelligence affects children's learning but it is not taken into account in the classroom. Therefore, the main objective of this research is to determine the incidence of Emotional Intelligence in the Development of Basic Notions on the kindergarten children in "Victor Proano Carrion", Calpi, Riobamba canton, Chimborazo province, period 2015-2016. Theoretically the emotional intelligence is a set of skills related to the emotional processing of information as the ability to perceive, assimilate, understand and regulate one's own emotions and others; while the Basic Notions are the representation and recognition for an adequate communication of their ideas, feelings, experiences and thoughts. From the methodological point of view, the design is non-experimental and descriptive, correlational and explanatory type of research, the level is exploratory and descriptive with a population of 33 children. The technique used is observation with its instrument the observation sheet. The conclusion establishes that the Emotional Intelligence influences in the Development of the Basic Notions.
