Shrnutí:Job satisfaction was defined by Locke in 1976 as the positive or pleasurable emotional state of the subjective perception of the subject's work experiences, Maslach and Jackson (1981) define Burnout syndrome as an inadequate response to chronic stress characterized by three dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and lack of personal fulfillment at work. The main objective of the present research was to determine the incidence of Job Satisfaction within the levels of Burnout Syndrome of the administrative staff and workers at Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo during the year 2016, the research design used belongs to the non-experimental, transverse, correlational and field. The instruments for data collection were the checklist for sociodemographic factors, the Job Overall Satisfaction Scale (JOS) to measure the job satisfaction, and the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) to determine the level of Burnout. The total population consists of 344 individuals including administrative staff and workers, the sample was of 182 people with a level of confidence of 95%, besides, a stratified random probabilistic sampling was used. Among the results, it was observed that 52.75% of the respondents were feeling satisfied with the internal factors and 60% with the external or hygienic factors, both men and women have similar feelings about these factors. The overall satisfaction is summarized in a 54.95 %, highly satisfied; 36.81% moderately satisfied and 8.24% dissatisfied. As for the dimensions of Burnout syndrome, 25.28% of the group expressed to feel at the limit of their possibilities, 30.22% displayed a level of cynicism that ranges from medium to high. Additionally, almost half of the individuals do not feel personally fulfilled; men showed higher Burnout levels than women did, Cronbach's alpha values of 0.925 and 0.761 were obtained for the JOS and MBI questionnaires, respectively. Independence was observed among the variables of marital status, age, children's tenure, work status, length of service and levels of Burnout syndrome with valuesof p > 0.05; statistically significant differences were found with p < 0.05 with connection to the association between job satisfaction, gender, schooling and the levels of Burnout syndrome.
