Evaluación y propuesta de plan de acción para mitigar los riesgos psicosociales en los docentes de la unidad educativa 15 de Marzo, del cantón Esmeraldas

Abstract Occupational risks are present in all professional activities; therefore, workers will always be exposed to accidents or occupational diseases. For this reason, The Educational Institution “15 de Marzo” high-school of Esmeraldas city, in order to know the state of physical, mental and social health of teachers, has allowed them to be evaluated to propose preventive measures that allow improving their working conditions. In the present investigation, the psychosocial risk assessment questionnaire of the Ministry of Labor of Ecuador was applied, which had 8 dimensions that are made up of 58 items, which are: workload and pace, development of skills, leadership, margin of action and control, organization of work, recovery, support and other important points allowing the evaluation of psychosocial risk factors that can cause damage of teacher’s health. After applying the questionnaire, the dimensions in which teachers suffer the most were identified: workload and pace of work with 42%, recovery with 57% and other important points with a result of 51%. Once this evaluation and identification was carried out, an action plan was created, consisting of 14 activities which are detailed: periodicity, responsible for execution and the necessary observations to implement this plan, with this it is ensured that the psychosocial risks present in teachers are minimized, improving the quality of life of all of them inside and outside the educational institution.
