| Izvleček: | ABSTRACT: Burnout Syndrome constitutes a set of clinical manifestations resulting from a sustained stress level; It is considered a triggering factor for other neuropsychiatric disorders such as depressive syndrome, bipolarity, manic-depressive behavior and dissociative disorders, among others. The objective was to determine the level of the Burnout Syndrome of the nursing staff of the General Hospital Alfredo Noboa Montenegro in the city of Guaranda. Study with a quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive, field and cross-sectional approach, a non-probabilistic demonstration was produced, made up of nursing professionals who work at the Alfredo Noboa Montenegro General Hospital. The analysis of the general workers’ characteristics showed an average age slightly higher than 45 years; This result coincides with the labor profile of the main activities to be carried out within the provision of nursing management services. It included the participation of 95 nursing professionals who work at the Alfredo Noboa Montenegro General Hospital, in the study the female gender and the age range of 25 to 35 years predominated, a large part of the nursing professionals are married, work in shifts of 12 hours and their academic level is shared approximately 50/50 between third level and fourth level of studies, they are distributed in the different health services of a second level hospital. Regarding the level of Burnout Syndrome, it will be limited that most of the professionals presented a medium and high level of Burnout, the dimension that was mostly found is depersonalization, in which a representative score was obtained at a medium and high level, which indicates that patient care may be affected due to the negative attitudes and distance that professionals have towards users. On the other hand, although the dimension of emotional exhaustion and personal fulfillment do not reach high levels, it is evident that there is a tendency for these professionals to suffer from this syndrome. It was concluded that the Depersonalization dimension is the one that most influences the appearance of this syndrome, which indicates that there are negative attitudes and distancing of professionals towards users, therefore, it is recommended to take preventive measures to ensure the welfare of the worker and ensure the quality of care.
