الملخص: | Dental anomalies are alterations of the dental structure caused by genetic and enviromental factors,, affecting the ambryological develoment of the tooth, influencing changes in shape, numeber, size, structure, and color. The objective of this study was to radiologically characterize anomalies of shape and size according to the type of dentitions in pediatric patients. An observational-analytical cross-sectional study was carried out with 70 panoramic radiographs of pediatric patientas from 3 to 12 years old, who atended a radiological center in the city of Riobamba. Elongated, distored radiographs were excluded. Dental anomalies, fusión, germination, concrescence, supernumerary roots, dilaceration, invaginated tooth, macrodoncia, microdontia, short roots were considered. Dilaceration was the dental anomaly with the highest prevalence in patients, followed by microdontia, macrodontia, invaginated tooth. The patients who presented definitive dentition contained more dental anomalies. It was concluded that the most frequent anomalies were in the form presenting more teeth with dilaceration, and in the anomalies of size the microdontia appeared in greater quantity. The dentition and in the anomalies of size the microdontia appeared in greater quantity. The dentition that presented the highest index of anomalies was the definitive dention, presenting more in men tan in women. |
